I'm having trouble connecting my Sony DCR-HC40 to my dv5t to copy over movies using the IEEE port.

When I hook it up using the cable Vista does not see it. However, when I connect it using USB I can see the Camera but I can not capture anything using Movie Maker

Has anyone run into problems connecting a IEEE camera?

Let me rephrase...has any one successfully connected via the IEEE 1394 firewire port on their DV5T?

In my device manager, I only have one reference to IEEE 1394 which is the OHCI Compliant port

My next try would be the cable...
