After about being on an hour just surfing the web or being on word my hard drive temperature is at around 43 degrees. When hard drive companies make hard drives they like them to be at max 40 to save the life of the drive. Even though most hard drives are made to live under 55 degrees each degree hurts the life span. I was wondering what temperature you guys record?

Side note... i think my fan is always on high, and its loud. Anyone know how to clean the fan or something? Maybe there's some dust in there.

For an HP laptop that's pretty normal, the Pavilions in general get hot. In general, after 24 hours + on a soft surface, my Studio's hard drive gets to be 40C while doing some gaming. 3xC normal temps.

43 is just about right.. even my desktop drives run around those temps..

Aslong as it doesnt exceed 55c, you shouldnt have to worry.
