Hi, I got my DV5T about 2 weeks ago and today I was running WoW at nearly max settings. As I played for about 30 minutes my laptop began to feel HOT not warm, as I'm typing this my left palm stings slightly. Right when I closed WoW my laptop crashed and a blue screen popped up.

Did this happen to anyone before? There weather here right now is about 75 F sunny, and I did lift my laptop on the back about an inch.

I bought this laptop to do a little gaming mostly with Starcraft 2 in mind but after this incident I'm not sure if I should return this laptop or not. I really like it but the overheating is actually a much bigger problem than I thought it would be.

Does anyone have any suggestions besides a cooler? I'm actually concerned about the damage this incident might've done to my laptop.

If anyone can provide me a detailed explanation or suggestion it'll be helpful, thanks!

Why buy a new powerful laptop and then undervolt it?

I think if you can't solve the problem with your intended usage, return it and get a desktop, or stop playing, or try other laptops...

Let me guess, you have the 9600GT heater in it?

    lol, "heater"

i have a dv9500t with 8400M GS, and when i played COD4 my laptop got SO hot that my hands started to hurt.... no lockups though
just make sure to give your comp a break once in a while to cool down, and be in a cool room. and pay extra attention to not blocking the vents.
just sometips that worked for me
