Im looking for the stand alone driver for the Atheros AR5009 AGN wireless card. HP's site only has the AR5007 BG card driver

Im trying to install Vista from a fresh disc without all the HP BS. When I got it booted up the first time around, the disc didnt have the drivers for this wireless card or the wired card so I was stuck and had to go back to the recovery discs

Has anyone tested that 5007 BG driver for teh 5009 AGN cards?

I had the same situation, and I downloaded that driver package on a different computer, saved it to a flash drive, and then installed it on my dv5z. That file includes drivers for the 802.11 b/g/n card.

all the drivers for the hp notebook are usually saved in the SwSetup folder on the hard drive but I'm not sure if that helps since you already did the fresh install.

The AR5009 is garbage. Good luck trying to find support for it. Atheros discontinued even making the card due to problems. This card came with my D5Z and after fighting with HP for days they finally agreed to send me a new card. The card will only get 54mbps no matter what you do to it. They are sending me a Wireless LAN 802.11a/g/n (Muscat) mini PCI adapter card and i am hoping this gets me a faster connect speed. We shall see...
