Hey,
I'm thinking about getting a DV5T but have a few questions about it.
First, it comes with the Centrino 2 chipset right? Does anyone know which flavor, such as the GM45, PM45, ect? Does it support the using a dedicated video card while plugged in but then switch to an integrated GPU when on the battery?
How does the screen handle outside? It only comes with a glossy screen and I am worried the glare and reflection will be too much to use in different light conditions.
Finally, I heard that some are shipping with Atheros wireless chips, but also that it is either Intel or Broadcom. Any info on this?
Thanks

Its the PM45 chipset. NOt sure about the dedicated/integrated switching
I haven't taken the laptop outside, but in my home office I have a window that is behind me and it makes it difficult to see during the day. If you are worried about the gloss, then go without the Infinity option
I believe that if you choose the upgraded wireless adapters you will get the Intel -
sofar i know.. DV5 doenst have And a GPU and a Integrated GPU...

(DV7) -
Actually it's the GM45 chipset (integrated graphics). Not sure if they use it on the dedicated graphics option though, they very well could.
The only laptops I'm aware of that support switchable graphics are the Lenovos. -
Thanks for all of your help, I was going to try and get something with the switchable graphics but right now Sony and the Lenovos are the only ones available and I feel they're too expensive for what you get. The DV5T looks pretty good though. Thanks again.
