I have had my HP DV5t for a while now and didn't pay much attention to it, but I have noticed that my screen is not as bright as some of my friends laptops (dell's not hp). And that when I watch a movie from my HDD, the video has a sort of white/or extremely bright quality to it.

Yeah, same thing with mine. HP LCD screens don't seem as bright as the ones Dell use. What I do is use the Nvidia Control Panel and increase the brightness through the software by 5% and increase the "Digital Vibrance" by 6%.

It becomes a little brighter. Also, it seems like the infinity display makes it look dimmer, I guess not all the light gets through the extra glass screen. I'm no scientist, but it seems like it when I compare it to a regular dv5t without the infinity screen. It seems brighter than mine.

I don't have the infinity display, but im going to try some different drivers and see if that would be it.

Should have nothing to do with the drivers. Funny thing, i find my displays too bright.
