Hi, I didn't think this would belong in the "What notebook should I buy" forum as I've narrowed it down the the dv5t (or dv5z)

    Here is a dv5 I'm looking at: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/ca/en/ho/WF06b/321957-321957-3329744-64354-64354-3744201-3805946.html
It doesn't say, but the graphics is an integrated Intel GMA x4500

There is also another dv5 with these specs:
    P7350
    4GB Memory
    Geforce 9200
    320GB HDD
    (370$ more)

Unfortunately, I'm in Canada and the lack of customization is killing me.

I've read battery life with a DV5t is sub par; is this only true with the high end models or is it something across the entire lineup? Heat also seems to be an issue but only with intense gaming and again, high end parts. If this is the case I believe either model will be fine. An approximate battery life for both models would be great; I'm hoping for 2.5hours+ with just wifi, word and powerpoint.

If the first laptop with the integrated x4500 will suffice for CounterStrike Source then I'm happy.

    Thanks!

If you want to play minimally, I'd suggest an ATI Radeon HD3200 over an X4500, it performs far better and is currently the strongest IGP on the market.

With an IGP, the heat produced by the laptop will drastically reduce and the battery life will increase quite noticeably. So an IGP would more or less solve the battery and heat problems.

You mention school and the only game you mention is CS:S so idk, the HD3200 should run that very well(idk about the resolution or settings you'd need to get a decent FPS though).
