Hi all,
since 1 or 2 days my fan is doing a very weird noise like the bearings are dying.
I can hear a little click and when i play a game it gets very loud.
Think of the drive scratching but way louder and clearly coming from the fan![]()
Can anyone guide me to a step by step guide to break it down to access the fan so i can check it out ?
And if it is the fan can HP send me a new one so i can install it myself or will i have to send it back ? :/
I'm starting Uni this week so it would be terrible timing...
Thanks

The Dv6t manual is here, it has detailed instructions for teardown, if you want to. It also has all the spare part numbers. However, are you sure you're not just hearing normal fan noise? This would be a rather difficult endeavor to replace the fan. You would have to re-apply thermal paste between the heatsink and the CPU/GPU, since the spare part comes with the heatsink and fan.

No no its not normal noise: check this video it is exactly the same problem

I really dont want to send it back to HP and be without a laptop for 3 weeks... -
