It is really annoying as your fingers stick when you move them.. is this just me or do others find this a problem as well

If it is the older dv6 with the super glossy metallic touchpad the best thing you can do is never wipe it down no matter how ugly the fingerprints look on it. The grease build up from your fingers should make it usable, it did when I had my dv6.

Actually, it's just the opposite. The things that SLOW the trackpad down are grease/oil and moisture. Keep the trackpad clean and make sure your fingers are clean and dry. You shouldn't have any problem if they are!

The touchpad has to be greasy with the sweat of the fingers. Never wipe it down or use some alcohol to it. If you did, just rub your finger briskly to the touchpad in a column-by-column way to make it smooth again. -

All I know is that, for me, I had to leave in greasy for it to work well.

I am currently using a dm3 with the miror trackpad, not the best. So here is what you should do.
Step 1 - Head to rite aid and pick up a vat of Vaseline.
Step 2 - Profit
Step Serious - It does perform better and glide better when it is more oiled. It sounds like you skin is as dry as a desert reptile or something for you to have such a hard time. So just compensate and get some oily something on there, just a bit, not trying to short anything. -
One of the things I hate about my DM3 and DV6 is the sticky trackpad gahh..
Although, if you use those adhesive clear stickers, it isn't much a problem. -
