    Hello,

I am about to invest in one of these laptops and I was hoping to get some feedback from people who own one, or one of the other similar models. I have never owned a laptop before so I am pretty new to all this.

The other model I am considering (as my second choice) is a Toshiba A500/03P, mostly because I have been told that Toshiba is a better brand.

Any advice you can offer is appreciated.

i dont know a thing about toshiba laptops. it looks like the only major difference between these two models is ths dv6 has a p8700 (2.53Ghz) over the toshiba's p7350 (2.0Ghz).... this obviously a very significant upgrade. they both have the same size HDD, same GPU... the toshiba DOES come with a TV tuner.. which i personally would never put to any use. you might want to research the LCD displays of both devices.. based on the processor alone i would go with the HP. i'm very happy with my older style dv7t..
