I have a Core i5 -2410 processor and Radeon 6770M graphics card. I've been playing Assassins Creed 1 and 2 lately and both have been tearing up quite badly. I've tried turning V sync on the game and from Catalyst but to no avail. Is there any fix from AMD?
Also sometimes when I'm playing videos or listening to music, it kinda skips a beat for a second every now and then. I know the files are alright so what would be the problem?

Some people that updated their graphics drivers to the 11.5b hotfix corrected their tearing issues. Give it a shot.
Keep in mind, this 11.5b driver is not switchable graphics supported, you may or may not lose switchable graphics capability (there have been reports of it working fine, and other reports of it not working after this update).
AMD Catalyst? 11.5b hotfix -
Thats a known issue with the actual game.....it also happens on the xbox 360 and ps3 versions

As for the skipping...dunno, I dont have that issue at all.
Also to install the 11.5a/b 11.6 betas etc make sure you install the original factory driver first, then without uninstalling it install the 11.5's over the top of that.... reason being is that original factory driver comes with the switchable graphics subset(Intel HD SG), and without you will have heaps of issues etc -

Thats ok dude.Basically the Radeon drivers that your HP shipped with, are the 'Factory' or 'Default' drivers.
You want to download and install the 11.5b hotfix drivers(they contain the 11.5b driver+hotfix). You can get it from here AMD Catalyst 11.5b Hotfix driver download from Guru3D.com
This will give you the latest driver from AMD, may help with your stutter or tearing issue etc. And by install over the top of the factory driver means is this. Traditionally you would uninstall an old driver before installing a new one, however in this case just install it and DONT uninstall the old one. Done
Whats the exact model of your dv6 btw? Can you manually switch between ur Radeon and your Intel or is it done automatically for you? -
ya, major tearing problems in crysis 2 and in videos in general. installed 11.5b but nothing changed. I probably just did something wrong...
