I bough today an HP DV6-6060EP with the new ATI 6770M 1gb card. I was expecting a great quality image but I am very desapointed with the quality of the display. This LCD clearly shows the pixels in all resolutions.
This both shows in the intel comuted card as well on ati card so its not a drivers issue. I tested it back at the shop and the exibition laptop has the same thing. I cant say its a faulty item but its a clear thing that that quality of the LCD equiping the latest DV6-6060EP is not as good as seen in other brands like Sony.

The "EP" in DV6-6060EP must mean "Economy Pavilion."

Still its anot a budget computer- its the higher specced one, i7 sandy core, 6770m, 7200 rpm hd.... Nothing is budget here exept the "non branded" lcd that we dont have any information besides resolution. Its a 1400 usd (1000€ ;) computer, much higher value then other brands with decent lcd.

You must have got the 1366x768 resolution screen. That is the low quality screen. The display that is great is the 1920x1080 one. If you want this screen, you have to order online and customize it.

Yep you've got the 1366x768 screen. Most 1366x768 screens are junk.

Just return the laptop and buy a DV6t Quad Edition from HP's website, customized. And be sure you select the 1920x1080 display upgrade.

I wish I could but HP doesnt allow contomized laptop been shipped to european union (most contries) as I am from Portugal. I am just testing right now, side by side, this HP DV6-6060 with a 2 year old junky Acer and the Acer beats the LED screen quality by a large margin.

I really miss my old DV7 which had a good quality LCD. I wanted to stick with HP. I just looked for the new envy but the graphic card is just junk (portuguese moldels).

I am wondering why HP sends a top specification laptop with a really trash LED display like you said. I am really disaponted and even worse now then I just turn on my old ACER with 2 years.
