I've already asked a couple times but nobody seems to have a clear answer. So here's my question: Is there currently a known way to overclock the AMD 6770m graphics card in the new dynamic switching DV6s?

Wow that's disappointing. HP had something great with the dv6 but they screwed it up with the 6100 series. :(

Yeah it doesn't matter what program you use...the settings won't apply. My 6770M is not working right, unrelated to the switching issue, so I'm sending it back for a refund and I ordered an XPS.

Any way to overclock the i7 CPU? I'm using an application that only taps 2 of th cores and turbo at 2.9Ghz isn't really enough. The temps and stability suggest to me experimenting if I can go to 3.1 or 3.2Ghz (so raising the 2.0Ghz to 2.2Ghz).

I know it's not trivial on these HP laptops. Anyone learned anything to share?

I don't think the your cpu can be overclocked. You'd need to have unlocked multipliers, and those are only in the really expensive "enthusiast" chips

The 2920XM is unlocked. It's rather expensive though.

The i7-2920XM is the only mobile 2nd gen processor that can be OC'd. I haven't seen a laptop under $3K that has that chip.
