Question to DV6-6xxx owners. Are the audio jacks (2 headphone and 1 mic) reconfigurable to support 5.1 surround sound? Seems like several other laptops are able to do this via settings where the 2nd headphone and the mic jack are re-purposed as the rear and subwoofer channels, but I haven't seen anything on the DV6 for that. Resort to USB or Bluetooth for a microphone if you need one (or a built-in one).

Not a deal breaker, but nice to know for an old 5.1 Logitech speaker set I've got kicking around from a decade ago.

    TIA!

The ports should work with SPDIF.

There's an optical SPDIF? Didn't see that on any spec sheet...

And not really the connector I'm looking for. More of a three 3.5mm headphone jack type surround sound like you find with 5.1 computer speakers or headsets that don't do surround processing on their own.

    You might be screwed then.

HDMI should be able to do 5.1 sound if you hook up to a TV and then hook the TV up to a 5.1 setup.

Anyone else? Straight up analog connectors like these.

Again, not a deal breaker by any means. Just a curiousity as to what old audio gear I can repurpose.

So really, is there an optical SPDIF? That would be even more impressive than analog 5.1...
