My burned audio CDs dont play properly in my car. It takes a long time for the player to read the CD and when I change the tracks, the player looses its place and gets stuck. It then either gets stuck or i have to wait a long time for it to switch the track. Ive tried burning using media player and NERO 7.

The same CD burned with my Inspiron works fine. Any suggestions about settings etc. Also, I have a normal CDRW drive not the DVD burner.

Are you using the good brand media. Sometimes, some cheap media doesn't work very well, and causes errors in the writing. Also, does the CD work in some other Cd player, or DVD player. If it doesn't, then there may be something wrong with the DVD/CD-RW drive. Hope this helps.

    could be

    - cheap disk
    - the car deck itself- i kno some rentals dont allow burned cds
    - most likely the burn speed- which speed did you burn the disk? try a lower burn speed.

Also, close the CD when you are done.
