(I hope I'm putting this in the right section...)

I think I need to replace the back cover on my HP DV6000. One corner is gone; plastic pieces chipped away, leaving a kind of sharp edge and hole where the corner used to be. The part number is 431389-001. I'm just interested in this part because the laptop is working just fine and the rest of the parts are in tact.

I went to HP's website to find a manual, and it gives a detailed description on how to replace the cover. I also have a $10-off coupon for HP products >=$50 that expires in November. My warranty is gone now, so should I maybe replace the cover myself?

Alright. Do the screws need to be replaced, or can I simply use the screws that come with the laptop? I ask this because a screw kit was listed on the site, as well (part number 431399-001).

You can just re-use the screws in there.

Make sure you look at the video guide too, Good luck.

I didn't even know about the how-to videos. I thank both of you for your help.
