First of all, i would like to thanks this forum of being such a wonderful place to search for answers and it has really help me alot. The experience has been really great! i think many others will think the same way as i do. Congrats.... !!!!

As of I heard, the Quick Play software can play movies and musics without even logging into Windows. I have tried a few times already and it doesn't seem to work (it will go into Windows mode and ask me to log in). I have uninstalled some pre-installed programs and disable some startup items after i received my DV6000, may that be the cause that i'm not able to use the Quick Play functions? What is the essential software to make Quick Play works?

Secondly is the problem with my built-in mic, everytime when i have a video call in Windows Live Messenger, I'll get a loud noisy sound from my speakers (the sound is similar to the sound when I'm using a karaoke mic too close to a speaker at my hi-fi system).

    Thanks alot again.

Another thing, can anyone help me on overclocking my DV6000 with T5600 (1.83ghz) on it? i tried clock gen but the windows blue screen comes out a few seconds later after i move the slider up a notch. I don't know about laptop overclocking, but in desktop i always succeed when i set a higher Vcore at the bios. Does anyone knows how to do it in DV6000? Has anyone succeed in overclocking their DV6000? Thanks.

I've just read this thread http://www.notebookforums.com/thread141817-15.html. I guess i screwed up my Quick Play pretty bad as there's a special partition for it in the hardisk for Quick Play and last nite i had deleted the partition and distribute the space to other partition...... What should I do now? Anyone out there to help,please....

yeah i guess so, especially when you just wanna watch movies or listen to music , i hate to wait for all the services to be loaded up when u start up Windows. Bunch of crap....as i don't know which services to be stopped that won't affect everyday functionality. Does anyone know how to install QP and how to do it correctly? I guess I have deleted the partition needed by QP.

Actually, it only takes up about 1gb.

And it can be useful. Saves battery power since Windows doesn't need to boot up and all.

Do you still have the SWSetup folder? Every stock HP installed Windows comes with one and it should contain reinstallation files for all HP pre-installed software(look for teh folders HPQPDP(direct - the bootable part & is installed on the extra partition),QPW(installs QP for Windows) & QLB(configures the buttons)). To install QP make sure you have the Quick launch buttons software installed as well and you have 1GB of unpartitioned space on your HDD. Do note that it(QP direct) wont work if you have a different OS other than Windows XP.
