Is there a way to modify the quickplay buttons (back, play/pause, forward, and stop) so that it works with winamp and not WMP? I only have the option to modify the DVD button, Media Menu button, and the Music button in the control panel (HP quicklaunch buttons) Thanks in advance :)

I am not sure if it works in Winamp, but it works in Media Player classic, and also lot of players in Linux. FF/REW Volume UP/Down.

Good news, I found a way!

Go to the Winamp Options and look for "Global Hotkeys" on the left.

Then you need to check the box marked "Enabled", and then simply rebind the keys there and then in Winamp. There are some issues with having Play and Pause as the same button so I just bind Pause to another key.

Cool nice little trick. In the other post asking the same question I said that I thought it was hardcoded in the bios and could not be done. Guess I was wrong.

hey. actually if you use the drop down list to add buttons (in the global hotkeys menu), there is one that is play/pause (as opposed to one for play, and a separate one for pause) if you bind that button to you play/pause button, everything should work fine.

thanks for the thread... it really helped me out : )

Thank you so much - i love winamp and would rather not use WMP - all windows apps are clunky and super inefficient, MSN is another classic example - use trillian! another question - the DV6000 has a remote control with it - will this now work with winamp as well if u've set the quickplay keys to work? thanks in advance!

Thank you so much Zcott! I did what you say and it works perfectly on my HP dv9550 with Windows XP.
