And about the extra programs pre-installed,can anyone advice me on what are the programs for and can i uninstall them?

    The Programs:

    2)HP help and support
    3)HP imaging device functions 6.0
    4)HP integrated module with bluetooth
    5)HP update
    6)HP user guides
    7)HP wireless assistant
8)Soft data fax modem with smartCP

    Thanks a Zillion.

Well, if he's never going to use dial up, he can uninstall it.

I would not uninstall the 56K modem software. It is useful to dial up in case your broadband is down or not available.
