Lots of people already complained about the low sensitivity of the integrated webcam of the DV6000t. The picture is fine with daylight, but in somewhat darker surroundings it degrades a lot.

Using MSN Live Messenger, you can adjust the settings of your webcam. Click 'Tools', 'Webcam Settings' and the window showing your webcam's live picture appears. You can adjust the brightness to full here, but it does not help a lot.

Click on 'Advanced' , 'Video Proc Amp', and move the window so that you can see the webcam's live pic in the other window. If you now click on 'Backlight Comp', you will notice a tremendous increase of the brightness of your webcam! I would LOVE to keep the camera recording pictures this bright.

The problem is, I do not manage. Whether the settings are saved with backlight compensation on or off, the webcam always falls back into its shady , dark picture. Obviously the camera is able to deliver a decent brightness, but the supporting software/drivers well, sucks. Any ideas how to get a permanent bright picture?

No imbbot99, sorry, I don't. First of all I don't use it, second the posts I quickly found here in the board all say it doesn't work.

Windows Messenger is the wrong program. You have to use Windows Live Messenger, I made a slight mistake there by calling it MSN Live Messenger which is wrong - it was MSN Messenger and now is renamed to Windows Live Messenger. You can get it via messenger.msn.com.
