    Hi,

I got a DV6000 a little over a month ago and it recently started having problems hibernating. About 40 percent of the time when i tell it to hibernate (the power button is set to hibernate) the screen turns off and it seems to be powerign down, but then it just stays in that almost off state with all the lights on, fans still running etc. It will stay like that forever unless I hold down the power button to turn it off, resetting the computer. It does the same thing with sleep about 40 percent of the time.

I emailed HP and they gave me a list of things to do like update the bios, all of which I did, the problem still persists.

I was hoping someone had run into a similar problem and knew how to fix it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you installed all Vista hotfixes related to hibernate/sleep problems?

Do you have a nvidia graphic card?

There is a vista update that fixes this.
