    Hi everyone,
I have a new DV6000T with windows vista. For personal preferences I would like to "downgrade" to xp pro. I have a copy of Xp Pro from an old computer that I replaced with this notebook. I know how to slipstream the sata stuff.. my question is about the SWSETUP folder.

If I copy that folder from my vista install, will all those drivers, etc... work with XP? Or do I need XP versions?

    Thanks for any help.

Yes I too am considering XP-ifying a DV6000T but I'm inexperienced. How hard is it going to be for a noobish type? Is there a how-to somewhere or can someone post one? Thank ya!

There are Xp reinstallation guides in the stickied threads at the HP/Compaq page of this site. Make sure you can find all the XP drivers for your machine before the XP-ization, make sure you back up your data, and make sure the XP is a clean install. Also, read the XP installation guide carefully to take care of SATA HDD support issue.
