We need more information. Who is your ISP? Did you check the phone jack? Are you using any software with the modem?

The net is working fine, and im not using any software with it! -
-
Internet is working fine! Im using a normal internet (not dial up) No error messages or anything like this!
What i want to do? Make thhe built in 56K modem to work -
If you can connect to the internet and don't use dial up why would you need to worry about the 56k modem? I am confused....what you're asking and do you have a problem with the modem?

What do you want to do with the 56KB modem?
-
I would like to know how can i get it to work, because i will visit some places with internet BUT NOT EXTERNAL MODEM!
-
so if the net is working fine what is it that you want? -

Yes i know how to do the basic thing, but, i have tried configuring the modem but it STILL doesent work! Anyone has this same problem...? :/
-
If you're using DSL, you can use the ethernet port for internet. If you're using Dial-up and find that your internal modem doesn't work, you might have a faulty card and may have to contact HP for a replacement. We still don't really get the extent of your problem - you can connect to the internet, but you want to also use your 56k modem? For what?

It could also be a port conflict, too, and that you cannot use WiFi or LAN at the same time as the MODEM.Attached Files:

I am thinking that you don't have a dial up service, thus your modem not working.

So, i need to have an dial up to make the 56k modem to work...? I thought you just can use it for normal internet (always on)

Yes to the first, No to the second.
That would be GSM in your part of the world. 56KB modems are for when there are only land phone lines. If you have BT you might be able to use a cell phone as a modem depending upon your carrier's setup. -
Ok, so this is what i want
To use the built in 56K modem on a normal (always on) internet, impossible? -
You can't use the phone when you're using 56K. So, no if you want to send/receive calls.
-
No, i dont want to send/receive any calls

A connection is a connection. The interface is just an interface. Obviously, speed differentials come into play as 56KB is quite a bit slower than common ethernet speeds. So, as long as the connection is kept "open" or active, it is "on". That goes for:
- WiFi
- BT
- LAN
- 56KB Modem
- IR
