I'm looking to get an idea of battery life with one of these notebooks configured with Turion ML-50/1GB/80GB/DVD-RW/15.4" WXGA.

I've searched quite a bit but i've read reports ranging from 2.5 hours w/ the 6-cell battery on max. battery/portable settings and other reports of only 3.5 hours w/ the 12-cell when watching a DVD (which would put the 6-cell < 2 hours).

    Thanks.

Well, unless they are the same report, comparing the two isn't too accurate. Usually during movies you want the screen to be as bright as possible (usually in darkness too), but normal office tasks are done with varying brightness.

From what I know, the 6-cell can get upto 2.5 hours and the 12-cell upto 4.5, but your mileage will vary.

*shameless plug* of course, my old dv4000 could best 6.5 hours when tuned just right, but that's beside the point :p *shameless plug*
