I'm looking for the latest BIOS version that supports QuickPlay DirectPlay (Windows XP) for DV6000Z's. On my last laptop, I updated the BIOS, and it broke QPDP support, and wouldn't let me reinstall it either. I want to make sure my BIOS is all good before I go formatting and attempting to install XP on this.

I have QPD working on my DV2100T in dual-boot configuration (MCE/Vista) with the latest BIOS available.

I think they updated the BIOS during Vista's launch which disabled the QP direct feature. So, downlod the BIOS version released before that, this should support the directplay feature.

Hmm...on my V3000z directplay has not functioned ever since I upgraded the BIOS to the Vista supported ones. If I downgrade the BIOS to the older version it works perfectly fine.

Perhaps it depends on model as well as BIOS/rev? I mean, I'm pretty sure there isn't one BIOS for all models so that would make sense.
