Can you hear a fan running? It might not be working for some reason. Feel for it too...any flowing air?

If it isn't working, you need to stop using the computer and call HP about repairing it.

I'm not sure about the fan location, but from the pics of the dv6000t I think it is at the back on the left side on the bottom of the notebook.

The front left getting hot might be pretty normal given the HDD is usually located there. The HDD has no active cooling systems, so if you use it for extended periods of time heat will definately build up. The fan should be located in the back behind the exhaust vents. they should run inermitantly and at full blast if you are doing any heavy duty work.

Thanks for all the replies. Another question, i noticed that even the laptop is off but the blue light at AC is still on, is that normal? will it hurt the battery if it is full. Thanks.

    Hello

I have a new DV 6000t laptop with intel core duo T2350 processor. I am feeling the heating issue as well on the left pad where we place hands for typing. I downloaded one software to measure the hdd and cpu temp and it seems to be weird... i tried with the NHC software and it shows CPU as 51C and HDD temp as 49C(120F).

Could some one suggest if there is any solution for this or its better to return this and get a new one.
