It seems to be better than F.26, but I can't tell a difference between this and F.16 (current stable BIOS version for dv6000t) I will let you guys know if I notice anything new. Please do contribute if you find something out about this new update! Click HERE for a direct download. Enjoy~ :D

    Description
    Version: F.27

This package contains the WinFlash utility and a BIOS image for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The WinFlash utility is used to locally flash the System BIOS (ROM) on notebooks operating in a Microsoft Windows orMicrosoft Windows Vista Operating System environment.

    PURPOSE: Recommended

    Fixes

    # Resolves an issue where notebooks with a Celeron CPU may stop responding (hang) and display a black screen when resuming from Standby mode.
    # Resolves an issue where the Sound button is always enabled, even if it has been disabled in the F10 BIOS menu.

Reads as if F.16 is still the most stable from a power/heat/fan perspective.

yeah, just tried it. cpu temps went up to 50C again.... no reduction in that high pitched whine as far as i can see. so if you liked f25/26, update to this one.

i've gone back to f16. dont like the idea of my laptop running so hot

Yes, I see a definite change in temp from F26 to F27. Unlike F26 the palmrest is not that hot.

I just got an email from HP about F.26! Heh! Love my F.16. Mine came running fine and I will not risk any chance to make her whine. Nooooooo! No!

I installed this bios on my dv6000t. I was running f.16 previous. After a few days I started seeing more registry errors, hanging on startups and shutdown, and even got the "blank screen when resuming from sleep mode" that this was supposed to fix. (I never had this problem before). The only thing that had changed was the Bios. The high-pitched whine was no better either. The fan runs less, never seems to reach the higher speeds no matter what is going on, the left palm rest is warmer (though NOTHING like f.26) and the air coming out of the vent when the fan is running is MUCH hotter than when running f.16. I reverted back to f.16 and I'm staying there barring some fantastic fix or revelation from HP on the next release.

I installed this on my dv6137tx as I was having webcam problems in XP and HP (obviously) tells me to keep my BIOS and drivers updated. With F26, the system was getting quite hot, but with F27 its seems okay...its a dv6000t so it does get hot sometimes, but it seems--on a first look--to be a shade better than the previous version. I've been using the new bios for little over a week.

I'm still using f.16 and from the sounds of it, I'll keep using it since this update doesn't seem to offer my laptop anything useful.

Wondering if the latest BIOS, F.27, might help cut the fan off some, I flashed it. Sure enough, the fan did not come on as often, but the temps for both the hard drive and the CPU rose to over 50C.

I reverted back to F.16 and the temps right now are 45C from the hard drive and 32C from the CPU.

HP's really having a hard time getting the BIOS right. With the F.16, however, though the fan is on more, the computer is cooler. The weather is already hot enough without having to work on a hot computer.

    people,
how can you go back from updated bios to old bios again? Is that possible?
One year ago i had F.05 bios, so i updated it to f.15, then the went was always ON and dont stops, then i updated to f.16 it did, not help. I sended it back to HP they flashed to F.20 now went stops, but the problem is CPU goes hot faster and the fan spings more than with F.05. i really dream about my old bios. Now i see HP realised one more newer bios f.28....i dont really know what to do and i afraid update my bios now. i have Pavilion dv6119ea and my ide temp on ide (46 degrees) CoreDuo T2050.

Your link just took me back to the shopping.hp.com site but no info. I and several others have installed updated BIOS versions and then reverted to an older version. I've done it several times, always going back to F.16. I haven't tried the F.28 yet.

What you cannot do is go to a BIOS for a different HP notebook, of course.

Can you cite the info from HP?

Which BIOS came on your computer?

The most recent BIOS for the dv6000t series is F.29. The most recent for the dv6700t series is F.58A.

Not to question your intelligence or anything (mine is usually questionable ;)), but I just wanted to make sure that you downloaded the F.58A instead of the F.29.

sir, i'm just a nOOB compared to your level. :D i just got my lappy august dis year, so much info had to be learned yet.

yup, its an F.58a, but noisy fans. I'm afraid to try flashing another one, cause if another thing goes wrong i wud have to reformat again. Iv'e had enough formatting it 16x just to make everything work the way i want it to. :p

I don't know but right now getting from the dxdiag my BIOS says Version 1.00PARTTBL, which i believe the one existed out of the box. :D

You've got a fine computer. I have tried later BIOS's which ran my computer too hot for my comfort, though the fans ran less. I would go back to the HP downloads page for my computer and click the link for previous BIOS, download the one I knew worked, and flashed that one. I've never had any problem doing it, and I'm far from a geek. :) I've never had to reformat.

BTW, I don't mind my fans running if it keeps my computer cooler.

    Best to you.
