Have you ever experience when you press the power button, the buttons and everything turn blue, but the screen remains blank, and about few seconds later will have 2 beeps? and probably never turn back on again?

Please share your experience and do answer how long have you own the computer.

I had my dv6000z from spetember 2006...it happen in June 2007.

My dv6000z is not exhibiting this problem yet, but I've only had it since July 3rd.

well this problem probably won't appear half a year later. Try to work your laptop, it might happen earlier and if it does happen I really suggest make it happen within the warrenty period... because it needs a total motherboard change!
well Not saying it will happen on every 6000z machine, but highly possible.

yep, i have a DV6040us, i've sent it in three times.

the first was the wireless card not being detected, the second the two to three beep error, and now it is in for the beeping error again!

i'm beginning to think that the dv6000z is seriously flawed!

I have got a replacement laptop; however, still a DV6000z... if this happened again. I am requesting a model change for sure.

I have just experienced the blue lights and three beep and then nothing error. Mine came right after I had installed a replacement optical drive. It worked fine the rest of the day but failed when I tried to boot up the next morning. Since it is the weekend, HP is not acknowledging emails. Will contact them again in the morning. Glad to know I am not alone and sad that we have the problem. My wife also has a dv6000z with somewhat less stuff. Hope it hangs in there.

sundoggy, how do you request a replacement laptop? mine has been going in and out of repair for almost a year! The warranty expires in September.

Yep, glad to know that i am not alone either. My relatives' dv6011us is still working...

    DolhpinAMD,

Tell them how many times it's been in for repair, and then ask for a replacement. Just make sure you take care of it before the warranty expires. Usually, if you are in touch with a case manager, they will repair it two or three times and then offer a replacement. But you have to go through hell to actually get it.
