I got my new HP dv6000z yesterday. I took it out of the box, put in the battery and tried to turn it on. After pressing the power button all i got was a short beep, the blue lights on the power button, the media controls and the touchpad flashed for 1/2 second, i heard the fan turning, but it immediately went off. So everytime i pressed the power button i just got a beep, lights flashed and nothing. I removed the battery, tried only on outlet power, and still nothing. The customer support instructed me to hold the power button down for one minute, while there was no battery and the cord was disconnected, the to remove the 2 ram modules and insert them back. After this, my laptop was working fine. Custommer support indian lady said that the RAM wasn't seated properly.
Today, in the middle of a movie, the notebok went out again, and I cant turn it on no matter what I do. Whenever i press the power button I hear this beep, see the blue lights flash, and nothing happens. Customer support was unable to help me by phone either.
Since I'm leaving the country on monday (yes, xmas day) it's really unconvenient for me to send it back for repairs. Anyone maybe knows what this is, and if I can fix it myself for good?
