Is there anybody out there who owns a DV6275US and has had any time to play with the expresscard tv tuner?
How good is the reception of HDTV channels? I may be wrong, but I thing it has an internal antenna or something. Does it work? I guess what I need to know is if I should expect to be able to get a good quality HDTV signal on the go or is it necessary to have it plugged to a cable box or coaxial antenna. Any help will be appreciated.

I'm assuming you're referring to the digital/analog ExpressCard tuner HP offers. I don't have it, so I can't comment on it's internal antenna capacity, but make sure you know that it can only decode over-the-air digital channels, not digital channels over a cable line. So are sent using a different type of digital transmission (and some are encrypted to boot). you would need a cable box to tune all of those channels (generally cable channels above 100 or 125).

I know that doesn't answer your question, but hopefully someone else can help you. It would also be helpful if you stated where you live in relation to the city whose OTA HD broadcasts you're trying to pull in. My personal experience with HD OTA signals is that without a powerful antenna you can only get reception if you live in a pretty near vicinity to the stations.

I've only used mine plugged into a coaxial cable line, and the quality is perfect, however you would need to buy an antenna if you were trying to use it without cable.

I live in the Houston area, and relatively close to some of the local tv stations so i guess the signal should be strong enough. And yes, I was actually talking about OTA HD channels.
My question is because HP promises, per their website "Take your TV or DVR on the road— or just across the hall—with the mobility of a full-featured notebook PC with TV tuner" but I've heard contrasting opinions about that. Some say it is perfect, others say it sucks. Probably depends, as you mention, on how far are you located from the broadcasting station.
