The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    DV6299 Remote issues

    Having upgraded to a 400gig HDD I have found my remote control no longer works. I installed vista from the recovery dvd, and all updates have been done-HP and windows.

    I just tried installing the quick launch button drivers directly from hp, as i read these also run the IR but no luck

    The remote is fine as it controls my GF's laptop fine

    Any ideas appreciated.
