Anyone have recent build quality issues with the HP DV6500s. I purchased one from HP and have had 3 return/replacements for:

    1. Heat Issue
    2. Loose/Broken Power Connector (2nd unit)
    3. Loose/Broken Power Connector (3rd unit)

The details for "Loose/Broken Power Connector" are I connect the power cord on the side and if there is any slight movement of the cord, the power is disconnected.

Have I just been unlucky :( , or should I look at an alternate model?

    Thanks

I think that you just go a lemon or you are tough on your laptop and plug it in like 500 times a day

These were "out of the box" issues.

I think that the side power config. is not a good idea, but if you it should be on the left and not right.

my dv6500t worked great out of the box, but the fingerprint sensor failed after 2 weeks. After numerous attempts to fix it, including a complete system recovery, HP sent a box and shipping label to get my machine to their repair center yesterday.

So far, I'm very pleased with their support. Aside from the faulty fingerprint sensor, it is a great machine.

Same here. Haven't had one problem. I mean you might read a lot of problems on this forum but how many people out there have flawlessly working laptops, thousands. I've had other people buy new laptops from Toshiba, Dell, Gateway and Acer and all of those have been to the repair shop once. My girlfriends grandmother's dell was freaking hott. I mean it was going above 200 degrees farenheit while idle. Her fans never turned on once since shipped. I dont know but. I'm glad I went with HP.
