    Hi
My hard drive just failed and I need to get a replacement. A previous thread on this forum stated that a SATA II drive is compatible with a DV6000 (or is it dv9000). Just to be sure, I asked HP helpdesk and they told me that I can't use a SATA II, and that the motherboard came with SATA I controllers!

I don't have much faith in HP helpdesk, so I thought I better check with the ple here.

    thanks
    J

A Sata II drive will work fine, as it is backward compatible with Sata I.
