I played with my new laptop last night and I'll say I'm impressed with the design! It's sleek looking and very appealing! Here are some of my thoughts:

*The fan noise is very low or faint, as opposed to some reviewer saying that the fan is noisy.

*I left it on for 6 hours last night and it's warm to the touch.

*I checked on my screen and mine is a LG screen, with no dead pixel!

*Wi-fi, bluetooth, and the rest of the hardwares are working properly.

I'll be leaving the laptop on for burn test, to make sure everything is supposed to work the way they are design for.

Its good to hear that everything is fine. I have one question though; what is your BIOS version?

Most laptops will be warm after having been on for a bit. One way to help disperse the heat is to invest in a notebook cooling pad. You can find these all over the internet and at your local CompUSA, BestBuy, etc.

I used to have a dv6000z, which is almost the same to the dv6500 models and I loved it (now my brother who currently owns it loves it too) The only reason I sold it was to get a laptop with more performance.

I've had my dv6500t for just about a month now. It's been a great machine to this point.

This is my first laptop, so I'm not sure what I was expecting for fan noise and heat. To me the fan is somewhat noisy, but it's not overwhelming. I would say the heat hasn't been an issue at all. It gets warm, but it never gets hot, at least not to me.

    Good luck with you laptop.

The DV6500T is nice looking. This is my first brand new laptop; upgraded from a used Toshiba Tecra 8100 800Mhz and from a Dell P166 .

I'm currently in the process of covering the shining frame on the outer screen with Con-Tact paper.

I have a DV6599ea special edition notebook and the fan noise when taxing the processor in games or CAD programs for example is stupidly loud and very annoying. The fan runs flat out at its highest setting constantly and only calms down atleast 5-10 minutes after the game or program is not in use and no activites are being processed. I am having to change the power state to power save in normal applications just to silence the fans. Very annoying, however HP have agreed to take a look and have said it is possibly down to a hardware malfunction.
