Has anyone had issues with the webcam not working unless you restart?

Nope, try re-installing the drivers, or switch to a different driver.

Try searching the forums for a topic similar to yours. I have read it and the solution is even weirder. The remedy to the best of my knowledge is installing some Crystal Eye drivers used by Acer Web cams!

Before posting this I did a search in all the forums. Of course the results didn't come up to the top. After posting this thread I did a search just in HP. Of course I found the thread which you speak of. I was going to kill this thread before anyone posted in it.

Try the solution posted there. Your problem is similar to one of the problems mentioned there.

Using driver for a different brand seems iffy to me. I'm only on message 125 though. I may try a later suggestion from HP.
