    DV6500t New, Camera not working on AIM

    Hey guys, some quick troubleshooting help if you don't mind. My BF has a dv6500t that we purchased last week. When I try connecting to him on AIM via my macbook, for some reason, he can't get it to work. (he doesn't see me, I don't see him) We've tried some random video webchat sites too, no cigar.

    The camera has yet to initialize, but the button besides it turns blue. Any idea what is going on here? I appreciate your help. Also, we haven't fine tuned the laptop at all, or tried a clean install for windows.

    Thanks guys, you don't know how much this helps. We're in a long distance relationship and can't wait to make this work!

    Turn on Quickplay and see if the camera works at all.

    Yes! Camera is working, perhaps it requires some troubleshooting on AIM? I don't know, we just can't figure it out..

    have you tried going into settings in aim. under enhanced im. there is a section for video. its probably set to default. change it to your webcam.

    good suggestion digital, unfortunately, we already tried that but it didn't work. seems like he can see me, but i can't see him. we've also tried yahoo messenger, same problems..
