So, I've got a weird problem: I can't seem to wake my system from my generic USB keyboard.

It's a dv6663ca with Vista Home Premium. The keyboard, like I said, is a USB generic with a Power, Sleep, and Wake button.

The Sleep button works perfectly, but for some reason, the Wake button does not work properly.

I've checked the device manager and the "allow this device to wake the computer" is checked. The BIOS (latest, I believe) does not contain anything about powering USBs or wake-on or anything else. It does, however, contain something about a special sleep mode.

    Any advice?

Usually waking a computer, you don't have to push the special "wake" button, instead, you push the "ANY" key, and the system should start to whir again.

Yeah, I just tried that. No luck.

I just some more quick experimenting. Apparently, the power button just did the same thing as the sleep button.

I also took a closer look at the keyboard/HID settings. It turns out that the keyboard listed there is for the HP keyboard that's already inside. Two more HID entries exist: one for quickplay, and the other for the USB keyboard. The USB keyboard HID does not contain any entries for waking up the computer, so I think I found my culprit.

The problem is now... since it's a fairly generic keyboard, how do I change my HID driver so that it can wake it up?
