just ordered hp dv6700t special edition (2.4ghz intel). one of my friends told me that his hp started to have fan noise after 3 months. Does any of you guys who owns dv6700t se has experienced similar problems b4, or this is only a problem found on old dv6000 models ? I love everything about this model but the fan noise really concerns me.

Nope. It's only old models, and it's probably because after 3 months dust builds up in the vents causing noise + heat. Not many people clean out their vents often.

but my friend just bought his dv6700t 2 months ago. Don't know why his fan got so loud. He said he couldn't even go to sleep with the laptop left on at night. That's so weird

He probably has a lemon because I've had my laptop since February and the fans on my laptop aren't very audible. I always keep vista's power profile to balanced, which helps keep the fan level low.

i'm just hoping my dv6700t se won't have fan noise issue like his. It's such a nice system (even better if it comes with a better graphic card ).

Even if it does, you can complain to HP and get new, quieter fans installed through warranty.
