Just customized a dv6t select edition with a whole bunch of goodies and wanted to know which WLAN card these things come with nowadays. I did a search on here and came up with the intel 1000 series but the posts were a little old and wasn't sure if HP had updated their hardware or not.

I ordered the laptop on June 13 and the estimated build date is June 22. Any word on delays or anything?

Here's the specs for the build:

Should still be the centrino 1000. The bios is locked so that you cant upgrade to a different wireless card. In the dv6t owners thread on one of the last posts I asked for someone to please provide the info to request a firmware hack from another place, hopefully someone steps up and does it.

That's ridiculous that they even make it a "removable" card if you can't even replace it with something better... I know you can edit the hex in a bios and I used to know how to do it but I wouldn't even know where to begin with unlocking a BIOS

Wouldn't HP's white list be virtually the same layout for their bios' in terms Of hex values? What I mean is if say the vendor ID is the same, wouldn't it be the same principal to add your own IDs right under the originals if you can find them of course?
