I just received my new DV6T-7000 this week, and I am really loving this machine so far. It's plenty fast (especially compared to my 6 year old dell core duo), BUT I know it can be faster. I would like to upgrade the mSSD to a 256GB 6gb/sec card, and use it as my primary drive and use the 750GB hard drive for storage. I've searched but haven't been able to find out what it takes to get to the mSSD and swap it out on this bad boy? Does anyone know of a step-by-step guide or give me a quick rundown of the process?

I have read through both of those threads and feel confident in the software end of getting everything setup once I have it installed. My question is specifically about physically replacing the mSSD. As far as I can tell it is under the palm rest and the laptop will need to be disassembled to access it.

Hi, I recently installed an mSSD into my mSATA slot (a 256GB Crucial M4 MSATA), and it did not come with a screw to fasten to mSSD in since I never ordered the mSSD 32GB cache. So just beware of that. I just used one of the same screws from the Optical Drive and it worked just fine. I am getting 6GB/s and it is really fast though. As long as you follow the service manual you'll be fine.

What neon10th said. I ended up scavenging a PM 2.0x3.5 screw from my old laptop. That's what you'll need.
