I'm unable to do a successful reboot of my laptop, once it shuts down and turns back on it sits at a black screen with a white bar on the top left, then switching to a black screen with an hp label in the middle where it sits indefinitely, the only way to restart successfully is to shut down the computer completely and turn it back on manually.

It starts back up like this

Then after about 3 minutes it hangs here indefinitely

Seems like it is hanging on POST. I would say hop into the BIOS and see if you can disable the HP splash screen to see if it is throwing any sort of error.

If you want to try to fix it yourself, I'd say re-flash the bios with the newest available from HP. If that doesnt fix it, call HP and make a warranty claim.

I'm not seeing an option to disable the HP Splash, how would I go about reflashing the bios?
