Hi, I have a DV6QTE-6XXX and recently replaced the harddrive with a SSD. I decided to remove my optical bay and buy a caddy to put the HDD there instead since I rarely use the DVD drive.

I installed Windows 8 on the SSD but everytime I boot I get the "An operating system wasn't found." because the laptop refuses to check the SSD first for an operating system, there is no option in the BIOS to change which drive gets booted first since they are both storage drives.

It's so annoying to have to press F9 everytime I turn on the laptop and have to go through the boot option menu just to get into windows.

I want to keep the SSD where it is because that port is SATA 3 while the optical bay is only SATA 2.

The only option I can think of is to install a very tiny OS on the HD and use EASY-BCD to create a new boot menu that auto loads Windows 8 on the SSD instead.

    Anyone have any ideas?
