I was browsing HP's laptop offerings, and noticed that the DV6Z is no longer available, but the DV6Z "Special Edition" has been updated with Radeon HD6550 and HD6370 graphics as well. Fast dual-core processors are also available, instead of only slow quad-cores. You can now have a PhenomII N660 (3GHz).

Too bad the screen is still the lowly 1366x768....

For a HD6550 1366x768 is a perfect fit except if you want a 17" 1600x900 for autocad/photoshop or other things that require more desktop area.

I would imagine the performance it close to that of a C2D of the same speed and slightly above the lower i3s. Not great by any means but when you can get it plus a switchable 6550 for $800 that isn't too bad at all. I really do hope that AMD can get back into the game.
