You can order the 6300 from babyhemi....there is a slight chance it would get accepted since our model is similar to the envy series.

hi can you please let me know the product code of the high capacity battery? im planning to buy the extended battery but i need the code to confirm if the battery im looking for is really the high capacity battery (62whr). thanks
-
the 62whr is the hi-cap 6 cell
I have the 9 cell 93whr and the sticker says :
Replace with HP Spare 593550-550
Date 2010/06
CT: which i think is just the serial.
I havent tested my 9 cell yet but I got about 3hrs 35mins on the std 6 cell on the lowest brightness wifi and bluetooth on. using a wireless mouse on a dongle. bluetooth keyboard and the wifi was constantly being used for browsing. no video playback, keyboard light is off. on intel graphics. i520m -
oh just found this in the service manual:
21 Battery
6-cell, 55-Whr, 2.55-Ah Li-ion battery for use with all computer models 593554–001
6-cell, 62-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery for use with all computer models 593562–001
9-cell, 93-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery for use with all computer models 593550–001 -

Hello everyone. I received my DV6TSE today and benchmarked the SSD as soon as I booted it up. Afterwards, I did a minimized image recovery, and benchmarked the SSD again. I figured some of you with SSD's may be interested to see the numbers.
I used AS SSD Benchmark to test the drive (website: Alex Intelligent Software - Downloads.
I did a benchmark of my desktop's 80gb intel X25-M SSD (for comparison purposes).
The first image is my pc, the second is the DV6TSE before MIR, and the last is after MIR.Attached Files:

I was getting 15/23 4k read/write on my SSD about 50% full before I returned my dv6tse.

Excellent compilation here.
I'd love to get any updates from dv6t owners, as to how their machines are holding up.
Wanting to pull the trigger, but I'm hesitant after reading a lot of the reviews online.
Thanks -
I've had my dv6t since September, replaced one because of issues surrounding the casing (battery wasn't sitting flush and the plastic around the battery bay looked warped), the replacement unit runs OK with the exception that it hard locked once prior to updating the BIOS to F.13 but it seems to be OK now, all the hardware checked out fine during diagnostics.
That being said, there are some annoyances with it:
1. The quick launch keys on the left hand side of the keyboard. Others have said that it doesn't bother them or that they've gotten used to it, but for some reason I can't get used to it as I do quite a bit of touch typing without looking at the keyboard.
2. The left hand side of the palm rest gets pretty warm during heavy load.
3. There's a bit of casing flex even with the aluminum lid and top case -- not nearly as bad as it is on a regular DV6, but when it's compared to something like the ENVY you can notice it quite a bit. -

Just purchased an ENVY 14, I'm going to compare it to the Pavilion in terms of quality, performance, and stability and see which one comes out on top - the specifications between my DV6 and the ENVY are pretty close. -
Yeah, I'm in the $800 range for budget. So Envy is out of the question.
Thanks for your input. -
all the keys on the quicklaunch can be remapped.
The thought of being on the left side is ok.
But I wonder whose dumb idea was put it oddly aligned with the esc key and lined up where the ctrl key is.
Now I can't use either keyboard anymore haha.
