Hey all. So I've had my dv6tqe for a while and have been loving it. I'm going to get a notebook cooler just to keep it from roasting while I game. So my question is this. I'm looking into getting the Coolermaster u2 because it looks very good for a good price. But I have the 9-cell battery. So will the laptop still fit on the cooler ok even with the battery? Or should i just run on AC power with the battery out while its on the pad? Thanks in advance.

You will most likely have to take out the battery... you should keep battery out when you are a/c power anyway to maximize the life of your battery. I have heard that if you can, keep the battery at 40% lvl when you are on a/c power to maximize the longevity of the battery. I'm not sure if you have a store around you, but Microcenter has the U2 Cooler for $15 if you have one around you to go pick one up. Amazon has it for $22 i think.

hey,
im placing an order for that cooler right now, and i have a nine cell battery as well. i have a few ideas of how i might deal with the problem if indeed it is a major issue. taking out the battery is one idea, but im a bit leery of that because um, if the adaptor cable gets accidentally pulled out....
anyway, if you're not needing to get it right away, i can post pictures of my setup once mine arrives. i have a student prime account so it should only take two days or so.
im pretty confident i can make things work somehow, especially since the fan position seems to be adjustable, so. -
Yeah thats kinda the issue that i have. I don't want to be playing and YANK goes the cable and bye bye all my hard work. I'm not in any particular rush so some pictures would be awesome actually! thanks!

It works perfectly fine with the 9cell battery. I have a 9cell and 6cell and they both work on the U2 netbook cooler. There is actually a gap on the back of the cooler that the battery can fit through so all you have to do is place it in there then position the laptop to a comfortable angle and then set the fans. Works flawlessly

yes, i just got mine from out of the bowels of UPS this evening and it does indeed fit with the cooler just fine. i'll post pics tomorrow proving it :]

the cooler doesn't really work unless the room you are in is also cool.

here be the setup. as someone says, theres a space where the bigger battery can fit quite comfortably
