As it turns out, the DV6z-6100 series has the same exact OpenGL switching problem as the DV6t-6100 did. (i.e. the discrete graphics card does not activate for OpenGL)
I've already posted a thread on the HP support forums but there have not been any responses so far. So is there any easy way to solve this or will we have to go through all the stuff that the DV6t owners did?

I'm pretty sure we will also have to go through all the same stuff that the DV6t owners did. I made this forum account specifically for this issue, and I've been checking every now and then hoping for a fix, but I've pretty much resigned to the fact that we will not get a fix. The main reason why I think that is that there are not nearly as many owners of the DV6z as there are owners of the DV6t. Thus there are less complaints, and HP can simply ignore this.
This issue does not affect me too much, so I am not putting too much effort into actively advocating the fix of this issue. However, if you find any information about it, please post it here! I have done the online chat with a live HP support assistant the beginning of August and asked if there was a fix in development, but the answer was no -
Well at least now we have a modern game (Rage) to base our complaints on. I'll be happy to send in a complaint as well.
