im going to be getting an hp Dv6z soon
    with an hd 1080p screen
    should i go with the a10-4600m + 7670m? or the 7730m?
I see that it excells in xfire supported games, but id just hate to be in crap low settings in only single gpu supported games

    What would you guys do?

david, or other folk: I've gone back through the original post/list and a bunch of searches but I'm having a tough time isolating the models identified to date that have Dedicated/discrete 7xxx graphics in them. I only see maybe three... one Acer, one HP [though I haven't actually found it for sale anywhere] and a custom configurable Lenovo. Does that sound coherent?

at the risk of asking you for too much - could we maybe separate the list at some point to highlight these?

probably not lol maybe once official 12.11 drivers come out then maybe

getting P2271 in 3dmark11 with 12.11 beta 4 so these drivers really r only ment for 7xxx gcn desktop graphics cards

    Hi guys!

May I ask here someone to test me out if the game World of Tanks would use the dual graph?
I want to buy a new notebook and currently cant decide between the y580 and a DG setup. I know the gtx is overall faster, but WoT is an amd preferred game, so if it would also benefit from the DG, it could even or may be better perform under that application.
However I havent found any clue about it on the internet.
    Thanks for any response!

    May I ask why?

I am also debating between the DV6z as in your signature and Samsung Series 3 NP355V4 (both have 10-4600m with 7670m) or go a little higher up to gtx 660m.

the Msi gx60 you'll get superior gaming performance with the 7970m over the gtx 660m thats in the y580.

in the y580 you'll get superior cpu performance then the msi gx60...

pros/cons in terms of cpu/gpu performance if u catch my drift

    the A10-4600m + 7670m is a cheaper all around good gaming/entertainment laptop

look at this thread for more info

anybody try new amd cat 12.11 beta 11 driver yet?

Got the chance to pick up a new dv6 on sale at this time of the year with A10-4600M and 7670M combo with 1080p panel, wondering if it is worth it since I pretty much have the same laptop but only with the 7730M that does not crossfire.

My 7730M will not play Far Cry 3, not sure why, it is though it should do it, but its seems so weak that even 1366 x 768 on low is pretty much impossible.

I picked up an old second hand Envy 15 with 5830M and this will handle the above game at 1080p on low on stock clocks. I am wondering it the 5830M is on par with the A10 / 7670M combo, as it has about the same amount of stream processors?

You can just install AMD's normal drivers on here, right? You don't have to use HP's drivers do you?

I know Sony blocks AMD's drivers, as do some of the other foreign companies for some reason, but the DV6z you SHOULD be able to just install the newest drivers from AMD.com without ever touching HP's, right?

(Heck, my junky c50 Acer lets me install AMD's newest drivers with no issues :D)

nice! yah i just installed 13.1 and got P2230 in 3dmarks11 (not much change from previous drivers)

tried max payne 3, crysis 2, and BF3...all see smooth when crossfire is enabled.

should get even better with 13.2 beta...u can try it here if you want...

    AMD Catalyst 13.2 BETA download

though it is a beta version so i would wait till official one comes out...

Thanks, I'll wait for 13.2 Official.
And for example playing TDU2 which is a ported game it used to lag slightly, now its perfectly smooth with all settings maxed out.

tried the new 13.11 mobility beta driver...

frame pacing is an option now!!!!!

haven't had to much time to test.

question is there a way to disable the igpu? (7660g) and just use the 7670m? Ive heard games run better just using the discrete 7670m.
