Alright, so the problem is that whenever I use HDMI through the laptop it always stretches outside the screen on the TV (if that makes any sense), the native resolution for the laptop is 1920x1080, I have changed the resolution for the TV through graphics properties but its still the same.
Latest drivers and BIOS too, anyone able to help?

    Other specs are-
    i7 2630QM processor
    Radeon 6770M overclock-able (max stable clock I've had is 880MHz core, 1050MHz memory @1.051v)
2x Toshiba 750gb hard drives (came in the laptop)
    8gb 1333MHz DDR3 RAM (came in laptop)
    17.3" screen

same happens to me when i try using it on a 1080p tv at 1920x1080. when i use it on a 720p tv it works fine at 1336x768. i have a 1336x768 laptop screen however, but the rest of the specs are the same.

Try change the underscan settings in Intel Graphic Control Panel.
