I got everything loaded and patched (DVD Install) but the game doesnt actually launch from battlelog. I can see bf3.exe appear in the task list but it just dies after 10-15sec. Nothing lauches, not even single player?

I have updated adobe AIR on the off chance it was related, I have manually updated punkbuster. I have let the repair tool run in Origin. One thing that may be related was that I got a directX error right in the beginning of my install. I restarted the intallation and it never happened again.

After much detective work it seems as though it is DirectX related now, tried a manual install and got a new error...

    An internal error occured.
Please refer to dxerror.log and directx.log in your windows folder to determine problem

So the BF3 DirectX install fails entirely although it seems to be working before hand and dxdiag looks fine.

So I have seen some threads on the HP Envy section (also HD5650m) which show a bunch of alternative drivers to the insanely old one available from HP which is 8.692.1.0 and sadly the only one that seems to function on my notebook. I have downloaded a couple of the others here but to be honest I am not technical enough to know whether a driver like this is linked to HP as a manufacturer or to an actual model (Envy vs DV7). If anyone could help me get a newer driver installed and working I would really appreciate it... dying to play some BF3!

    - Download & install DX11 off MS website.
    - Get the latest video driver off HP website.

Its more of a driver issue than anything else.
