Hey, I'm about to buy an HP "DV7-1050ea", but here in England we can't customise our laptops on the HP site, and nobody sells a version with the higher 1680 x 1050 resolution, so i'm kinda worried that the 1440x900 is going to be too small (or in this case 'large') for my liking :S

The matter is made worse by the fact that i'm transfering from a 20" 1680x1050 desktop tft =/

Anybody got any opinions on 1440x900 on a 17" screen? Or has anybody got any suggestions about what I should do?!

    Thanks!

well if you are used to higher resolution screens, its awkward goin back to smaller resolutions.. but i guess it really depends on the user so i suggest go to a store w/ that screen size and resolution and play around..maybe youll be satisfied enough w/ 1440x900..

I'd definately go to the store to see it in person. Opinions here won't matter unless you see for yourself. That's a bummer, you can't set the resolution on custom orders in England. You have any relatives in the US? Maybe they could order for you and mail it to you when they get it?
